History & Line

The railway opened in 2005, with quite humble beginnings and is run entirely by volunteers, over the years the number of volunteers involved has grown to where we are today.

Running a return trip of approx 1 mile, the train leaves the main station up past the carriage sidings, around to the gate crossing, then down the deer run (if your very lucky you will see some wild deer in the fields to your left), then onto the Bamboo crossing, through the cutting and back to the down line of the main station area. Passing the engine shed and turntable on your left, the line continues across the bridge, around the forest end and back into the main station area to depart.
